The Brooke County Commission approved the county's FY 2026-27 employee insurance plans and selected a new insurance broker during its June 16 meeting.
Commissioner Christina J. White moved to approve Nathan Mazur of USI Insurance as the county's insurance broker; Commissioner Stacey Wise seconded the motion, and it passed. The commission then approved the FY 2026-27 insurance plans, placing Health, vision and dental coverage with Highmark and life insurance with Mutual of Omaha at a total county cost of $1,606,411.00.
County officials recorded the approvals as motions during the regularly scheduled session. The vote to adopt the FY 2026-27 plans was recorded as passed; no dissenting votes were recorded in the minutes. The county clerk will maintain the plan documentation in county records.
