Fire Chief Drew Chapeau presented the department’s written report Feb. 10 and council approved several administrative items.
Council approved a final payment of $25,000 related to the sale of the department’s heavy rescue vehicle to St. Croix Falls; Councilmember Al Siedow moved the payment and Councilmember Chell Borash seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The minutes note the heavy rescue has been sold and that part of the proceeds will be used to pay off the purchase of St. Croix’s truck.
Separately, council authorized payment of a $503 bill from M Health Fairview Job Care after determining the service should have been billed as a return‑to‑work evaluation for C. Paulson; Siedow moved and Borash seconded the motion, which carried.
Council also approved changing the fire department’s medical director from Lakes Medical Director to MJM Medical Director Consortium and authorized the city to sign an agreement with the consortium; Councilmember Craig Moline made the motion and Councilmember Al Siedow seconded. Council received a written note that an FD vehicle inventory will be sent to City Hall for insurance and identification purposes, and EAM inspection results were provided for information only.
No public discussion or opposition to these administrative items was recorded in the minutes.
