Harmony EDA recommends 2025 budget with 3.01% increase; chamber request unchanged

Harmony Economic Development Authority staff presented a proposed 2025 EDA budget at the Aug. 1 meeting and the board voted to recommend City Council approve the request.
Chris Giesen described a 3.01% overall increase over the 2024 budget, equal to $3,840, driven by modest spending adjustments, cost-of-living provisions, and the inclusion of property taxes for three industrial-park parcels whose economic-development exemptions have expired. The Harmony Chamber of Commerce provided information to staff and indicated it is not requesting any increase; its 2025 request remains at the 2024 level of $30,000. City Council will review the EDA request and may amend it during its budget process before final approval in December.
Motion by Steve Donney, second by Kerry Kingsley to recommend that City Council approve the 2025 EDA budget as requested. Motion carried unanimously.
Next step: the EDA will forward the budget recommendation to City Council for consideration during the city budget process.
