Hanover Park Board moves ahead with Adopt‑a‑Park program and praises large Eggstravaganza turnout

City Clerk Jenny Peterson and Council Liaison Jim Zajicek were also noted as present.
Brandhorst and Rupenthal reported that the Eggstravaganza had a very large turnout and pleasant weather; they thanked Influence Church and Hanover Royalty for their assistance. The board agreed the only change for next year is to assign a volunteer in each age group area to start the hunt.
By consensus the board decided to move ahead with an Adopt‑a‑Park program, with adjustments to the program's responsibility list as discussed during the meeting. No formal vote on program rules is recorded in the minutes; the entry reflects the board's consensus to implement the program.
Schnell, Prairie and Rupenthal volunteered to staff the upcoming Kids Night; set‑up is planned for 5:00 p.m. Peterson said she will contact and book food trucks for Kids Night and for other events, and the minutes note discussion about having different trucks at different events.
Peterson presented the City Council's 2025 Hanover Strategic Plan to the Park Board (the minutes record the presentation but show no formal board action on the plan). She also announced the Park Tour meeting on May 27 will start at 5:00 p.m. and that City Council members will be invited to attend.
On facilities, Peterson reported that a Pickleball Court sign and screening have been ordered. Laurel Prairie asked about replacement Historic Bridge signs; Peterson said replacing both with wrapped aluminum signs would cost about $170.
Council Liaison Jim Zajicek gave the board an overview of the April 15 City Council meeting. The board adjourned at 8:00 p.m. on a motion by Brandhorst, seconded by Rupenthal; the motion carried unanimously.
