The Hanover Park Board voted unanimously July 23 to send a plan for a new pedestrian path from the Rivers Edge development to Pheasant Run Park to the City Council. City Clerk Jenny Peterson presented a plan prepared by WSB that calls for adding walkways to both park gazebos and including a volleyball court in the layout.
Board member Alex Holslin moved to present the plan to Council at its Aug. 6 meeting; Faye Schnell seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The meeting minutes record the vote as carried by the board members present (Chair Brandhorst, Alex Holslin and Faye Schnell); two members were absent.
Peterson said she will present the WSB plan to the Council on Aug. 6 for further consideration. The board’s consensus at the meeting was to include paths to both gazebos and to retain the proposed volleyball court in the design.
The decision at the Park Board does not itself authorize construction; any funding, schedule or required approvals will be determined by the Council and included in later project documents.
