Sherburn council grants extension to 26 North Main cannabis retailer until Aug. 1

Council discussed creating a firm deadline rather than leaving the extension open-ended; after discussion the council set an expiration of Aug. 1 for the extension so the owners would have a clear target. Staff said the owners anticipate being ready around June but requested additional time to ensure compliance. The council moved and seconded to extend the deadline to Aug. 1 and the motion carried.
The council noted the business has been licensed for cultivation and that staff will monitor licensing progress; the extension preserves the council’s option to reassess compliance at a later date if necessary.
