Harris council directs grader price research, seeks gravel delivery bids
Summary

The Harris City Council on March 17 directed staff to research equipment and materials to support road maintenance and infrastructure work.
Councilmember Craig Moline moved that Councilmember Garret Pearson research and negotiate prices for a used Caterpillar grader (with and without trade-in) and gather pricing for a packer for present or future purchase. Councilmember Al Siedow seconded the motion and the council approved it unanimously.
Separately, the council directed City Clerk Shannon Geier to solicit bids from gravel suppliers for two options: 2,000 cubic yards delivered and 3,000 cubic yards delivered; Harris Public Works will determine which roads will be graveled.
Mayor Randy Carlson also reported he had purchased and installed a new door handle and lock on the door between Public Works and the Fire Department; the minutes state only the Fire Chief and the Public Works employee will hold keys to that door.
The minutes do not record price estimates gathered or a preferred supplier; they record the direction to obtain bids and to research equipment pricing.
