Harmony EDA approves Chamber funding and hears updates on Photograph Harmony, downtown revitalization and bike trail

The Harmony Economic Development Authority approved claims Sept. 5 that included the Chamber of Commerce’s bi-annual $15,000 payment and a $2,400 request for the Photograph Harmony project.
Chamber representative Erica Thilges reported the August Back Alley Jam was successful, planning for fall and winter events is underway, and the first round of Photograph Harmony photos has been posted to the Chamber Facebook page for Harmony-related marketing; remaining photos are expected to be posted within a month. EDA staff member Chris Giesen reviewed financial reports and noted the most recent loan schedule was updated Aug. 28 and that no new home rebates had been claimed.
Staff also announced that the Downtown Revitalization Program is open for applications due Nov. 1, 2024 and that applications will be presented at the Nov. 7 EDA meeting. Giesen gave an update on the bike trail—bidding is underway for phase two and signage for the in-town connection has been ordered. At the close of the meeting Giesen thanked the board and attendees for a wonderful 15 years of service.
Motion by Greg Schieber, second by Michael Himlie to approve payment of the claims as presented carried unanimously.
