Harmony EDA to review two downtown revitalization grant applications at December meeting

The Harmony Economic Development Authority reviewed two applications for the 2024 Downtown Revitalization Grant during its Nov. 7 meeting and agreed to make a final decision at the Dec. 5 meeting.
EDA staff reported Mason Weedman requested $21,868.52 to fund tuckpointing and door and window framing and installation at 64 Main Ave. Eddie Swartzentruber requested $40,000 for tuckpointing on the north, east and south sides of 114 Main Ave N. Staff said application materials and summaries will be circulated to EDA members ahead of the December meeting and that applicants will be invited to attend to answer questions.
The applications are intended to support building envelope repairs in the downtown core. Board members did not take a vote on funding at the Nov. 7 meeting; the EDA deferred final review and decision to the December session. The EDA did not record any objections to proceeding with review and applicant invitations.
The EDA’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 5, 2024, when the board expects to consider final grant awards.
