The Harris Planning Commission on Jan. 27 directed staff to prepare a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) amendment after applicant Johnny Mold told the commission he had brought modular pods to 45560 Forest Blvd and might rent them as mini-storage units.
Mold told commissioners there are currently 35 pods, each 8 feet wide, and that the area would be secured. When asked whether anyone was living in the existing building on the site, Mold said, "No." Commissioners noted that Mold's existing CUP does not permit storage units and requested a CUP amendment be prepared for a hearing at the March 24 Planning Commission meeting.
The requested amendment and March hearing will determine whether the property's CUP should be changed to allow on-site storage or rental of modular pods; staff will prepare the amendment language and hearing materials before that meeting.
