Elton also reported a change in local law enforcement coverage, saying Houston County deputies now operate on roughly five‑hour rotating shifts and no longer conduct routine check‑ins at City Hall; she advised residents to call 911 for emergencies or the non‑emergency line as needed.
The council authorized the Planning & Zoning Commission to work with a property owner on a four‑acre annexation related to growth planning, an item discussed later in the meeting.
