St. James accepts police officer resignation and announces two city retirements

The St. James City Council accepted several personnel actions on Oct. 1.
The council accepted the resignation of Police Officer Tyler Larson effective Oct. 3; Larson agreed to remain on the schedule through Oct. 5 to finish prearranged shifts.
The council also accepted Police Chief Relle Hansen's notice of intent to retire effective Oct. 18, 2024. Brianna Sanders said Hansen "has served our Police Department for 22 years; she has served as our police chief for the last three years," and that an open house is set for Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. at City Hall.
Finally, the council accepted the retirement of Jill H., a former assistant liquor store manager, effective Oct. 5. Councilmembers expressed appreciation and accepted the retirements unanimously.
