The St. James City Council approved Resolution 92410 on Oct. 1 to authorize an amendment to agreement 10-15459 that allows the city to use ARPA funds for airport work and aligns the agreement with a federal extension of the spending deadline.
Brianna Sanders told the council the original agreement required funds to be spent by Sept. 30, 2024, and that the federal government has granted a new expiration date of Jan. 31, 2026. The resolution attaches the amendment and gives the mayor (and city clerk as appropriate under the agreement) authority to sign the updated documents.
Council approved the amendment by unanimous voice vote; staff said this is the same signature approach the city has used on prior airport agreements.
