Council members said a mini excavator has been ordered and will likely be traded in on the existing machine, and they discussed buying a commercial mower for the street department with funds already available.
One member said both quotes for a commercial mower must be resolved within about two to three weeks to meet vendor pricing/ordering windows. Speakers noted that the person who will use the machine most (Danny) preferred one model, but the decision will be finalized next month.
Members also discussed paving plans funded in part by RDC money: they plan to pave from the highway out to in front of a referenced house and consider a small Market Street repair. The council agreed to seek quotes from the same contractor and bring the estimates back to the RDC for approval of funds.
No final purchase motion for the mower or a paving contract was recorded at the meeting; the council set a near-term timeline to finalize vendor selection and obtain quotes.
