Silver Plume trustees approve routine business, liquor license and a committee appointment; insurance quotes tabled

The Silver Plume Board of Trustees handled routine town business and several approvals at its Sept. 9 meeting.
Trustees approved the meeting agenda, bills, and minutes from Aug. 23 and Aug. 26. During the bills discussion, Trustee Tammy Frey asked whether a $1,200 line item was a monthly charge for IT services; Mayor Lee Berenato said he would follow up with the clerk and report back.
The board approved a Special Event Liquor License for the People for Silver Plume Soup Fest after a motion from Marty Gitlin and a second from Tammy Frey. Trustee Chris Frey moved to appoint Randall McDonald to the Personnel Management Committee; the motion passed unanimously.
Two CIRSA items — the 2025 property-casualty preliminary contribution quote and the 2024 workers compensation quote — were tabled to the next meeting so the clerk could provide additional information, following a motion by Chris Frey and a second from Marty Gitlin.
Mayor Berenato and Trustee Chris Frey reported on a Colorado School of Mines student evaluation proposal: students will work on Mountain Park grounds, must sign waivers and schedule visits with the town; board members agreed not to maintain ongoing oversight beyond scheduling and required waivers. Public works updates noted completed work on Mountain and Garland streets. The meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m. after a motion from Chris Frey and a second from Tammy Frey.
