The Silver Plume Board of Trustees approved several routine business items and personnel actions at its Aug. 26 meeting.
The board unanimously approved the annual business license renewal for The Green Solution. Corey Cox, joining by Zoom and representing the business, said the Silver Plume location currently employs five people.
Trustees also unanimously approved a two‑year liquor license renewal for Bread Bar LLC. Owner Rob DuRay joined by Zoom; trustees discussed parking issues tied to a short‑term rental the owner operates on Silver Street and agreed to lease a parking spot behind the Town Shop to the Bread House to relieve on‑street parking pressure.
Randal McDonald reported progress on the caboose restoration, including delivery of kiln‑dried siding materials, and the Board approved hiring Austin Wright as a town employee to work on the caboose at a rate of $35.00 per hour, with hours varying by week. Chris Frey moved to hire Wright and Bryon Monseu seconded; the motion passed with all in favor.
The board appointed Randal McDonald to the Budget Committee and accepted Tammy Frey’s voluntary appointment to the Road & Bridge Committee; both appointments were approved unanimously.
Other administrative matters: Mayor Berenato will remove four discarded tires found at Main and Garfield and have them disposed of at Milo's Speed Shop; the Mendota Mine is slated for permanent closure after one final interior inspection is scheduled so Trustee Tammy Frey can attend; and one People for Silver Plume special event liquor permit was tabled because it was not properly noticed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
