Board approves Dinger Park wedding permit; schedules budget, road and cemetery meetings

The Board of Trustees on July 22 approved a special-event permit allowing Serenity Rockwell to use Dinger Park for a wedding reception and moved through several administrative items including scheduling meetings and discussing a cracked tank at the Water Treatment Plant.
Trustee Tammy Frey moved to approve the Dinger Park permit; Trustee Chris Frey seconded the motion, which passed with all in favor. The board also approved the meeting agenda and bills for payment and approved minutes from July 8 with Trustee Bryon Monseu recorded as abstaining on that vote.
Mayor Lee Berenato reported that the town’s Water Treatment Plant has a cracked tank; he said staff will prepare a quote to repair the tank and include the cost in next year’s budget. The board set a budget meeting for July 29 at 6:30 p.m., a Road & Bridge meeting for August 1 at 6:30 p.m., and a walkabout brainstorming session for August 3 from 10 a.m. to noon. Town Clerk Chelsea Nihiser said she is working with the accountant and expects an auditor update at the next meeting and noted a CIRSA audit conducted July 15 will appear on a future agenda.
Trustees discussed options to address recurring dumping at roll-off dumpsters on Main Street, weighing open enclosures, locked enclosures and expanded residential pickup; Trustee Chris Frey noted Timberline’s new truck may permit winter pickups. For road work, Trustee Chris Frey reported Woodward Street work went well and asked contractors to reprioritize Garland over Main; he cautioned Main Street work will require temporary parking adjustments that could affect Bread Bar deliveries and access to Town Hall.
The board adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
