Commission approves $12,000–$13,000 change order to add drain on Oak Alley

The French Lick Redevelopment Commission approved a contractor change order on Aug. 18 to add a storm drain along Oak Alley intended to capture runoff coming from Summit Street.
Staff said the added drain would catch overflow before it runs down the hill and creates issues on Walnut; the change order was estimated at roughly $12,000–$13,000 to be added to the contract baseline of about $321,121. A motion to approve the drain work was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Commission members asked whether any payment had been made on the Oak Alley contract (staff responded none had been paid yet) and directed staff to obtain the exact change-order number and finalize the amendment documentation for the project files.
The board’s action adjusts the contractor scope and budget for the Oak Alley contract; staff will report exact figures once the formal change-order documentation is filed.
