Neighbor offers to buy small town parcel near South Maple and Summit Circle
Summary

At the Aug. 18 meeting, resident and property owner Ralph Hodos told the French Lick Redevelopment Commission he and his wife own contiguous properties near the northeast corner of South Maple and Summit Circle and would like to buy the small town-owned lot that the town currently mows.
“I'd like to purchase that from the town,” Hodos said, explaining they own the adjacent properties and would maintain the small parcel the same way they maintain their other lots. He added he had not run development numbers and understood the property was not formally for sale.
Staff said another party has previously expressed interest in developing the site and that the commission would take Hodos’s name and contact information so he would be notified if the town decides to put the lot on the market. No formal action was taken at the meeting.
The commission discussed procedural steps if they decide to sell: finishing a subdivision plat with Midwest, approval by the town council, recording the plat and a title update before any transfer of title could proceed.
