Separately, council authorized the purchase of a compact tractor (identified in discussion as a John Deere 3032 or similar) with a front loader and box blade to maintain trails and grounds. The purchase price discussed in the meeting was approximately $27,742; the motion to approve the purchase carried with at least one councilor recording opposition.
Council asked staff to incorporate park rules into trail signage and to explore hiring a seasonal part‑time attendant to handle afternoon checks and respond promptly when restrooms are vandalized or fouled.
The new tractor and any staffing changes will be reflected in the street/parks budget reporting when staff returns with purchase documentation and staffing cost estimates.
