St. James EDA authorizes new shed and fence replacement at Lake Lane Apartments; items in 2026 budget

The St. James Economic Development Authority on April 14 approved property improvements at Lake Lane Apartments, including authorizing purchase of a 12-by-24 storage shed and awarding a fence-replacement contract.
Economic Development Director Brianna Sanders presented two shed options (each about 12' by 24', including delivery) and said staff would verify whether a Bolin Lumber option could meet the EDA’s needs before final purchase. The board adopted a motion by Sue Craig, seconded by Travis Elg, to purchase a 12' by 24' shed from Pro-shed in Mountain Lake for approximately $13,083.89 contingent on whether the Bolin Lumber option meets the EDA’s requirements; the motion passed unanimously (MC 4-0).
The board also considered an estimate to replace the apartment complex fence and approved a motion by Travis Elg, seconded by Mark Johnson, to accept a quote of $11,409 from J&K Services LLC for the fence replacement; that motion carried 4-0. Sanders stated the new shed, fence replacement, and new shrubs were included in the EDA’s 2026 budget.
Sanders additionally reported that the final unit at Lake Lane Apartments was leased for April 15 and that all EDA apartments are currently occupied. The board did not authorize construction contracts beyond the fence award or set a firm installation schedule during this meeting.
