Silver Plume trustees approve routine bills, minutes and insurance quotes; decline ARPA sidewalk project for now

At its Sept. 23 meeting the board approved routine agenda items and two CIRSA insurance preliminary contribution quotes, declined to pursue a nearby ARPA-funded sidewalk and roundabout project, and discussed local dumpster and caboose logistics.
The Silver Plume Board of Trustees on Sept. 23 approved routine business including the meeting agenda, the Sept. 9 minutes, bills for payment and two CIRSA preliminary contribution quotes for property/casualty and workers’ compensation for 2025.
Trustee actions included a unanimous vote to approve the 2025 CIRSA property/casualty preliminary contribution quote and a unanimous vote to approve the 2025 CIRSA workers' compensation preliminary contribution quote (motions by Marty Gitlin, seconded by Mark Basham in both cases). Several procedural motions — approving the agenda and prior minutes and authorizing payment of bills — also passed unanimously.
On an unrelated grant matter, the board considered an ARPA "Revitalize Main Street" project that Georgetown is pursuing for sidewalks, a roundabout and streetscape work. After hearing that the project’s engineering and Colorado Department of Transportation review requirements had pushed design costs higher, Mayor/Chair Lee Berenato said Silver Plume would not move forward at this time; he will research governmental immunity issues and the clerk has not yet formally told CDOT the town's position.
In updates, trustees discussed moving a caboose to the railroad museum, shop clean-up and dumpsters, and asked the clerk to follow up on a business license and alternate dumpster needs for a local coffee bar. The board adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
