Flora updates park addressing, street names and sets Depot Day festival date

Town staff told the council that 911 addressing for the park has been completed and the data uploaded to the county GIS. The update includes new internal street names (an extension of Main Street, Hickory Street, Fifth Street and Sixth Street) and assigned building addresses; staff said signage and building numbering will be posted to improve emergency response.
James (staff) said two existing addresses were identified and the remainder were created through the area plan; he noted a few structures (pavilions and the barn near the public garden) were not yet numbered and suggested further labeling work with the exhibit board. Staff and council discussed ordering street signage and posting 911 address signs.
The Flora Depot Museum’s letter read to the council thanked the town for support at this year’s Depot Day and announced the 2026 Depot Day Festival on Sept. 12, 2026. Separately, Jessica invited council members to the community club’s annual meeting on Nov. 18.
What happens next: staff will finalize signage, work with exhibit partners to number buildings, post reach alerts for large events, and circulate details to emergency services and vendors.
