The staff member also explained a statutory contiguity standard was met: the parcel is contiguous at the required one-eighth ratio and is wholly town-owned. With no members of the public raising objections during the hearing, a motion and second were made to close the public hearing and move into the regular meeting.
The hearing produced no formal vote on the ordinance itself; council clerks will manage the required publications and filings ahead of the September consideration. The council recorded routine consent business next, including claims and minutes, before turning to other agenda items.
