During public comment at the Dec. 11 Bolton Fire Commission meeting, Deputy Fire Marshal Lauri Vokert presented a fire-prevention poster submitted by fourth- and fifth-grade students at Bolton Center School. The commission voted to select Bolton's poster and to forward a separate entry to the statewide competition.
Vokert also described presenting at an NFPA-sponsored "Remembering When" conference in Nashville in November, a program focusing on fire prevention for older adults and fall prevention. Commissioners suggested that Chairwoman Cheryl Udin contact the senior center director to arrange a presentation for Bolton seniors.
The meeting record does not include direct quotes or a recorded vote tally for the poster selection beyond the notation that commissioners voted on their choices.
