Resident urges city to clarify road project yard restoration after erosion and seeding concerns

Heidelberg resident Tom Pexa told the City Council on Nov. 3 that recent road work on Willies Way left several yards with gravel and erosion where black dirt once was and asked whether grass seed had been applied and whether contractors will return to restore damaged areas. He said residents have received differing information about the restoration plan.
The council said it would post updates from contractor Braith Excavating on the front page of the city website to clarify whether seeding occurred and whether the contractor plans to address erosion and yard restoration next year. Administrator/Clerk Tracy Prochaska confirmed that the city will make that information publicly available.
The concern arose during the meeting's public-comment period. Council members did not take formal action during that segment but recorded the complaint and committed to sharing the contractor's statement with residents.
The council later approved payment to Braith Excavating for the Willies Way project as part of the claims agenda (see separate item on council votes). The council's next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 5, 2026.
