Etna Green clerk transition, payroll ordinance errors prompt tabling of 2025-06 salary ordinance

At the start of the meeting the board announced administrative changes: Patricia resigned effective May 31 and Ashley is no longer employed; Barbara Wagner said she is the clerk-treasurer as of June 1 and Ann England is the utility deputy clerk. The clerk's office hours were updated to Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.–4 p.m., closed Fridays, with a midday lunch closure.

Board members reviewed salary ordinance 2025-06, which had been signed at the prior meeting but later found to include handwritten edits and missing entries that do not reflect the ordinance the council voted to approve. Members said state board of accounts guidance contributed to the decision; because the signed document differs from the council's approved version and omits pay lines, some part-time employees cannot be paid under the current text. For those reasons a council motion was made to table Ordinance 2025-06 until a corrected ordinance can be prepared and presented next month.

The board directed staff to refer to the 2024 salary ordinance for interim payroll purposes and to prepare a properly written replacement ordinance that conforms to state board of accounts guidance. The board also approved administrative actions to update authorized bank signers and to allow billing adjustments as described elsewhere on the agenda.
