Board forwards Lawndale lighting and JF Mahoney ditch bids to engineering for review

At the Feb. 5 meeting the Board of Public Works and Safety read bids for two public‑works projects and voted to forward them to the engineering department for review and recommendation.
For the Lawndale lighting project the board recorded two quotes: Midwestern Electric for $157,309.25 and Hawk Enterprises for $126,083.51. A motion was made and seconded to forward those quotes to engineering for tabulation and recommendation, and the board approved the referral.
For JF Mahoney ditch improvements, three bids were read: Reith Riley at $139,915; H3 Concrete at $120,490; and Milestone Contractors at $207,146. The board referred those bids to engineering as well, with staff noting the JF Mahoney work is intended to clean and improve ditch flow.
Board members did not take a contract award at the meeting; engineering will review the submissions and return a recommendation for future board action.
