Resident urges Fort Branch to restore sidewalk and resolve driveway/right‑of‑way dispute after years of delays
Summary
Pat Kramer told the council he has waited more than five years for the town to replace a sidewalk removed during water repairs and raised concerns about a widened corner that he says encroaches on his property; staff confirmed the sidewalk is on this year’s concrete replacement list.

Pat Kramer addressed the Fort Branch council during citizen comments and urged the town to repair a sidewalk and address changes to his driveway and the street width that he says have persisted since a water-line repair.
"I've been after town employees several times to get it fixed and I keep getting a runaround," Kramer said, presenting photos and plat references he said demonstrate an inconsistent driveway/roadway transition that now measures wider on his side. He said the apron created during paving added roughly two feet at the corner near his driveway and that vehicles regularly cut across his lawn.
Town staff responded that the sidewalk replacement request is on this year’s concrete-replacement list and that any new sidewalk will need to be ADA‑compliant. The council acknowledged the long delay and told Kramer that staff would prioritize the sidewalk repair this year.
Kramer also raised concerns about stormwater drains and an apparent underground tile that he said had been altered during past work; staff said they repaired nearby stormwater infrastructure and recommended Kramer meet with town staff to discuss remaining issues. The council did not adopt any additional ordinance or require an immediate engineering change at the meeting; the matter remains an open service request with follow-up promised by staff.
The meeting record shows additional citizen concerns later in the session about paint overspray from water-tower painting; staff apologized and asked affected residents to provide contact information so the painting contractor could contact them directly.
