During the citizen comment period a resident who lives on 800 South said she owns a private two-inch feeder water line that now appears to serve several additional homes and that recent work on the line has caused recurring low water pressure for her household and neighbors.
The resident said the line had been in place since the late 20th century and described instances when the town's work or a recent repair caused low pressure at her home. She asked whether the town would consider taking over maintenance of the line or how to resolve easement and liability concerns for homeowners now served by the same feeder.
Town staff and council members said they do not yet have documentation that would confirm ownership or who is connected to the line. Staff advised the resident to seek legal guidance and said the council will have staff research property records and easement options to determine possible municipal responsibilities or steps to regularize the line.
No formal action was taken; staff will follow up with research and report back at a future meeting.
