Union City council removes Landbank lien, accepts EACOG audit and schedules zoning public hearing
Summary
Council voted unanimously to remove a roughly $2,690 lien on a Landbank-owned property at 121 East High Street, passed a resolution accepting the EACOG audit, opted not to advertise the towing ordinance for bids, and scheduled a Sept. 16 public hearing on a zoning ordinance amendment and a vote on a parking ordinance.
At its Aug. 27 meeting, the Union City Borough Council approved several administrative items that the borough manager presented.
Council voted to remove and satisfy a borough lien of approximately $2,690 on 121 East High Street after the property was donated to the Erie County Landbank; Councilor Kerns moved the action and Councilor Steadman seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
Wells said the Erie Area Council of Government audit had been reviewed and accepted by COG members and that each municipality must pass a resolution accepting the audit; Councilor Osborn moved to pass the resolution and Councilor Steadman seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Wells also reported the council opted not to advertise the towing ordinance for bids and that a letter of support would be sent for a PennDOT Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant application along the U.S. Route 6 corridor. She announced a public hearing on Sept. 16 for an amendment to the zoning ordinance and a vote on the parking ordinance; both items will be advertised twice as required. Additionally, Wells listed upcoming training and events and reminded council of a Sept. 25 meeting to review health insurance plans.
