Health Director Jim Philbrook reported at the June 23 Board of Health meeting that new cover material and other cleanout deliveries have arrived at the Flint Road Landfill and that crews are working on slope stabilization following earlier dumping problems.
"The cover material is there. It was delivered yesterday and the road was a little muddy today because of the rain," Philbrook said, adding that a crew is regularly on site after previous dumping incidents. Board members discussed slope work at the Jackson property and said extra material had been brought in to protect the access road.
Philbrook said the membrane cover arrives on large rolls; board discussion estimated the delivery included roughly 20–30 rolls. Members asked that Gary, the project representative who has overseen on-site work, be invited to the next meeting or to join by Zoom to provide a fuller update on phasing and any outstanding issues.
No regulatory action was taken at Tuesday's meeting. The board reiterated site posting and fencing practices should remain in place to deter public access while construction and grading are underway.
