"I actually didn't realize this item was on the agenda," the Chair said, and asked staff to notify Rosson and the agency referenced in the packet so they could attend. Board members said they did not want to discuss a business without the company's representative or its attorney present.
Board members asked staff to invite Rosson and to notify the town fire chief, who has been involved with issues connected to blasting. The board directed staff to place the item on the next meeting agenda and to forward any correspondence from the agency that investigated the site so members could review it in advance.
No formal fact-finding took place at the meeting; members emphasized that, without Rosson or its counsel in attendance, the board should not debate or reach conclusions. The matter will return to the board for substantive discussion once the company and the fire chief have been notified and invited.
