Lewis‑Palmer D38 board approves Falcon Aerolab partnership for homeschool aerospace/STEM programming

The Lewis‑Palmer Consolidated School District No. 38 board voted June 22 to approve a contract bringing Falcon Aerolabs homeschool aerospace and STEM program into the districts Homeschool Enrichment Academy.
Mark Hyatt, president of Falcon Aerolab, told the board the program began with a small homeschool class and has grown statewide; he described courses for ages 6-16 ("Fledglings," "Young Falcons," a sampler for 12-16-year-olds and advanced courses). Hyatt said the program has helped some students obtain pilot or maintenance certifications and that state law now requires homeschool programs to operate under the district umbrella where they run.
"We'd love to be part of D38," Hyatt said, outlining hands-on aviation experiences, glider solos at Meadow Lake and other in-state activities. District staff said the contract as presented is specific to the Homeschool Enrichment Academy but they are exploring possible future use of the Career Innovation Center for expanded programming.
The motion to approve the contract passed by roll-call vote.
