At the Mayor and Council’s Nov. 10 special meeting at the train depot, the council voted to adopt the proposed agenda after adding an item addressing Christmas bonuses. Danny Peed moved to adopt the agenda with the addition; Hannah Sloan seconded and the motion passed with all present voting in favor.
Later in New Business, Councilmember Danny Peed proposed a tiered Christmas bonus schedule — $500 for department heads, $250 for employees with more than one year of service, and $100 for employees with less than one year. The transcript states that the motion "died," and there was no recorded second or vote adopting that bonus schedule.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn. Danny Peed moved to adjourn, Hiram Couch seconded, and the council voted in favor; the session ended at 7:15 p.m.
