City Clerk Sissy McLaughlin told the Reynolds City Council on Nov. 17 that 2025 tax bills are scheduled to be mailed on Nov. 20 and will carry a due date of Jan. 20, 2026.
McLaughlin also described a mailing problem in which some water bills were split during distribution, causing some residents to receive only part of their bill. She did not provide a detailed count of affected households. The city plans outreach to address the issue, according to the minutes.
McLaughlin announced the city’s holiday events scheduled for Dec. 6, including a Christmas tree lighting, the Taylor Made Market and a visit with Santa from 4–8 p.m. The minutes note the city attorney advised that the Santa sleigh is city property and cannot be given to an individual referred to in the minutes as "Santa - Lee Sawyer." The minutes attribute the event announcements to the City Clerk; no additional event contracts were discussed.
On administrative business, the council voted to renew the health insurance packet for city employees for 2026 and approved a contract with Ashley Business Solutions for new copiers for City Hall and the Police Department. Both motions were moved by Danny Peed, seconded by Hannah Sloan, and recorded as passing unanimously in the minutes.
The police report at the meeting noted the department completed a GBI audit and was in full compliance; the minutes do not expand on the scope of that audit. Public Works updates included an expected completion of playground and walking-track renovations next week and gratitude to the county for assistance mowing and clearing roadways.
Council adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
