Public Works Director Scott Jones told the City of Reynolds council on Aug. 18 that the department completed several infrastructure tasks and secured grant funding for stormwater work.
Jones reported the depot roof repair has been completed and that storm drain guards were installed at the Hwy 128/Hwy 96 intersection. He said crews removed several trees from the city right of way and began cleaning larger ditches to help reduce localized flooding. Jones also said the city received an LMIG (Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant) check for $27,933.53, which will be applied to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) stormwater project.
Jones told council he plans to apply for a playground grant to secure additional recreational funding. During "Other Business," resident Jason Butts asked that staff assess a drainage issue at 51 South Collins Street; the minutes record the request but do not show a formal directive or timeline for follow-up.
The council did not take formal action on any new public-works contracts at the meeting. The Public Works updates were delivered as informational items and will guide staff follow-up where needed.
