The Holdingford Public School District board approved several personnel items at its Feb. 18 regular meeting, including a contract amendment for its business manager and multiple leaves for staff. Board members voted unanimously on each motion.
The most consequential personnel action was an amendment to Business Manager Garrity Gerber’s contract, made effective Feb. 9, 2026. The board approved the amendment on a motion by Pat Meier and a second by Ben Christensen; the motion carried unanimously. The board did not provide further detail about the changes to the contract in the meeting record.
Why it matters: the business manager is responsible for district finances and capital planning; an amended contract can affect continuity for budgeting and project delivery, particularly while staff submit capital requests due at the end of February, Business Manager Garrity Gerber told the board.
Other approved personnel actions included a multi-year work agreement with administrative assistants for fiscal years 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 (motion by Pat Meier); an extended leave for staff member Jodi Zwilling to the end of the 2025–2026 school year (motion by Evelyn Martini); and a five-year child care leave beginning with the 2026–2027 school year for First Grade Teacher Ellen VanOverbeke (motion by Ben Christensen, second by Rob Knettel). Each motion was recorded as carried unanimously (all in favor).
The superintendent, Chris Swenson, and Chair Lori Opatz publicly thanked staff members who announced leaves and the board for its timely consideration. The meeting record shows the board intends to fill the school psychologist position while the incumbent takes a year off, and the administration noted that enrollment levels remain steady.
The board’s personnel decisions will take effect per the dates recorded in the motions; no additional hearings or votes on these items were scheduled at the meeting.
The board then moved on to facilities and budget items later in the meeting.
