At its March 4 work session the Holdingford Public School District board discussed options for hiring a new superintendent and reached consensus to conduct an open search using consulting firm School Pro.
Business Manager Garrity Gerber presented executive-search options and asked the board for direction. Chair Lori Opatz said she consulted the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) for guidance on where to begin, including whether to pursue an internal search and an advised timeline. After a lengthy discussion the board agreed to engage School Pro and to start the process as soon as possible; no final candidate was selected at the work session.
The board’s decision was procedural direction to begin an open national search with consultant support; subsequent public meetings and formal steps (posting the position, application windows, and interview schedules) were not detailed in the work-session minutes and will follow in the search timeline.
