Nicole Acree, president of the Strawberry Festival Committee, requested permission to close a section of Highway 128 between the jewelry store and Reynolds Crossing for the day of the festival. Hannah Sloan moved to approve the closure contingent on GDOT permission; Danny Peed seconded and the motion passed unanimously among those present.
City Clerk Sissy McLaughlin announced that Lisa Riddle will begin as court clerk the following Monday. The council adopted the evening’s agenda after Brandon Hunter moved to add the Strawberry Festival committee item and an executive session on police compensation; Danny Peed seconded and the motion passed.
