Fanny Chapman Pool readies 100th anniversary events as memberships increase

The board’s Celebration Committee confirmed the Fanny Chapman Pool 100th anniversary event for June 26, 2027, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and reported progress on event logistics including video development, commemorative t-shirts, and commemorative tile sales starting May 23 at the pool. Committee plans include a scavenger hunt at the start of the 2027 season with a free-membership prize, 1–2 dive-in movies, and outreach for additional sponsorships. Mike Petrakis offered to set up a website page to advertise events and items for sale, and Pool Manager Drew Sterner said he will include landscaping and area-improvement costs in the 2027 budget.
In his pool manager’s report Drew Sterner said family memberships increased to 886 (from 877 in 2025), other memberships rose to 496 (from 483), and swim and dive registrations were 222 and 11, up from 192 and 9 in 2025. He reported all staff positions have been filled, two staff orientations were completed, five new assistant coaches were hired, Paige McKenzie will serve as Dive Meet Director, and Sarah Staudenmeier will be Head Coach.
