Ardsley officials and residents ask Greenburgh to negotiate DPW garage tax billing

Andy Laup, speaking as a resident of both Greenburgh and Ardsley, asked the board for help obtaining relief for late fees the village incurred and thanked the supervisor and a council member for prior assistance. He said the village did not realize certain tax bills were outstanding because it is an exempt owner and the tax notices were not received in a timely or accurate way.
Jay Leon, a former mayor of Ardsley, urged a cooperative settlement and described a timeline: he said invoices and the tax roll included wrong addresses and that village officials first became aware of the problem in April 2024. “Let’s take responsibility for that blame, get together in a room, and negotiate a fair settlement,” Leon said, asking the town and village to split responsibility where appropriate.
Board members acknowledged the request and invited continued discussion; no formal vote or settlement was recorded at the meeting.
