Bristol council approves SRF payments and water-project disbursements

The Bristol Town Council on Aug. 21 approved a State Revolving Fund payoff for the town’s wastewater plant and authorized three SRF disbursements to cover engineering and construction work on the town’s water project.

Town Manager Mike Gilders told the council that the wastewater payoff included an additional payment to a retainage fund of $55,372. He explained that retainage is held until inspections confirm work is complete. “The retainage stays there for the project. It’s done. And everything’s inspected and complete. Then the entire retainage amount is paid,” Gilders said.

Council approved the wastewater payoff as SRF Payoff No. 34 after a motion by Council member Greg Tolski and a second by Dean Renfro; the vote carried unanimously. Council members and staff also noted progress on construction: the wastewater project was reported about 75–76% complete, with key plant components expected to be finished around Dec. 30, 2025, and site demolition and reconstruction scheduled through fall 2026. The water tower dome was scheduled for pouring the next morning at 8:00 a.m., work staff encouraged members to observe.

The council took the actions as routine approvals tied to ongoing town infrastructure projects. No public comment was recorded on these items.
