Council approves wastewater change order and multiple SRF disbursements and pay applications

At the June 5 meeting the Town Council approved a change order and a sequence of SRF-related pay applications tied to wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
Staff described Change Order No. 4 for the wastewater lift-station work on Commerce Drive. Engineers discovered the incoming and outgoing pipes were at different elevations during construction; the recommended fix was to construct an intermediate manhole/structure. The council approved the $38,421 change order by roll-call vote.
Council also approved SRF Disbursement No. 29 in the amount of $71,880 for engineering services. A series of pay applications was approved, including: JPR $36,296; Phoenix Fabricators $396,817 (retainage $20,885); Niblock $618,043 (retainage $32,529); Baker Tilly $22,974; and an additional JPR pay application for $33,846. Each item was moved, seconded and approved on the record.
Council members said the payments were part of ongoing capital projects (water tower, wastewater upgrades, and related engineering) and that staff will continue reporting on schedule and budgetary impacts.
