Committee approves RFB for leachate pre‑filtration and accepts county highway bid for ramp removal

The Oneida County Solid Waste Committee approved two procurement actions at its May 18 meeting: release of a Request for Bids (RFB) for a leachate pre‑filtration system and acceptance of a low bid from the Oneida County Highway Department for concrete ramp removal.
Lisa Bauknecht, Solid Waste Director, presented the RFB process for the leachate pre‑filtration system and said the bid documents would require Corporation Counsel sign‑off. Committee member Kyle Timmons moved to approve the RFB contingent on counsel’s approval; Kyle Kilbourn seconded the motion and the committee voted unanimously to proceed.
Bauknecht also reviewed bids for concrete ramp removal, provided as options for removing ramps only or removing ramps with foundations. Bids received included Minocqua Grading ($5,900 ramps only; $10,800 ramps & foundation), Oneida County Highway Department ($1,927.70 ramps only; $2,689.69 ramps & foundation), and Musson Bros. ($8,610.55 ramps only; $12,135.49 ramps & foundation). The committee accepted the low bid from the Oneida County Highway Department for ramp removal; the motion was made by Billy Fried and seconded by Kyle Timmons and passed unanimously. Bauknecht noted removed materials will be disposed of at the demo site.
