The Loganville City Council on July 10 approved its consent agenda and swore in Terry Parsons as a director of the Downtown Development Authority.
The appointment took place during the council's regular meeting at Loganville City Hall. The oath required Parsons to observe the constitutions of the United States and the state and to discharge faithfully the duties of the Downtown Development Authority director. Parsons later said, "Well, I appreciate the opportunity."
The swearing-in was handled as part of the consent agenda. The meeting record shows the council moved and seconded the consent agenda and members voiced assent. City Manager Danny Roberts was absent from the meeting and was excused by the mayor.
No additional action or separate roll call for the appointment was recorded in the transcript; the oath and Parsons's brief remarks followed the consent vote. The council also discussed posting another DDA opening for 30 days to fill an additional vacancy.
