The Santa Paula zoning administrator approved a use permit on March 18 to allow automobile rental services at 454 Depoy Street, to be operated as part of an existing auto repair business.
Planner Michaela O'Brien told the hearing the proposed use satisfies the applicable findings in the municipal code. O'Brien described current operations and said the proposed rental use would align with the site's existing hours, initially described as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a condition that would allow future operations Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. as the use expands.
The planner said the application had been reviewed by other departments and was conditioned with findings and conditions of approval. No in‑room public comment was offered on the item.
After asking no further questions, the zoning administrator indicated concurrence with staff’s findings and approved the project subject to the recommended findings and conditions. The administrator’s decision was recorded in the hearing transcript and is subject to the standard appeal period.
The approval permits the applicant to pursue any additional permitting or inspections required by building or other city departments.
