Royston City Council on Dec. 10 approved a purchase of natural-gas regulators and relief valves totaling $34,311 for inventory stock to replace outdated parts as needed. City Manager Lanier Dunn requested approval because the purchase exceeds the City Manager’s purchasing authority.
Councilman Tony McCollum moved to approve the $34,311 purchase from Natural Gas Trade.com; Councilman Jason Phillips seconded and the motion passed, 6-0. Dunn indicated the parts will be used to replenish the Natural Gas Department’s inventory and allow on-hand replacement as equipment ages or fails.
The purchase was recorded as a single-line approval; the council did not provide additional procurement detail or alternative vendors at the meeting. Staff will proceed with the order and update the council through routine reporting.
