Granby selectmen expand capital projects committee, approve public-member appointments and reconstitute advisory panel

The Granby Board of Selectmen voted on June 1 to expand its Public Building and Capital Project Committee (PBCPC) from seven to nine members and approved a slate of public-member appointments for five-year terms ending Jan. 13, 2032.
The motion to expand the committee was made by Frederick A. Moffa and seconded by Mark C. Neumann; the board voted unanimously, 4-0-0. The newly approved public members include Anne Marie Adamson, Mark Albert Gottlieb, William M. Pascucci, Michael Louis Lengvarsky, Christopher Andrew Lavigne and Peter W. Anderson, each appointed to terms through Jan. 13, 2032. The board's action specifies that elected officials will serve until the expiration of their elected office or until a successor is appointed and qualified.
Several appointees briefly introduced themselves after being sworn in. Mark Gottlieb, a 30-year Granby resident and retired licensed environmental professional, described more than three decades of experience in project management, site investigation and remediation and said he was interested in contributing project-management expertise to town projects. Peter Anderson, a longtime resident with construction and renovation experience, and Michael Lengvarsky, who described experience overseeing construction and financing initiatives, also summarized their qualifications for committee service.
In related business, the board approved the appointment of Joel D. Danke to the Town of Granby Board of Education to fill a vacancy; his term runs through Nov. 2, 2027. Danke, a Granby resident since 2009 whose two children attended town schools, told the board he hopes to "help ensure a balance between the needs of students, faculty and town residents" and thanked them for the opportunity. The motion to appoint Danke was made by Kimberly L. Becker, seconded by Mark C. Neumann, and passed unanimously, 4-0-0.
The board also reconstituted the Intra-Board Advisory Committee (IBAC), an intergovernmental advisory body charged with exploring shared services and efficiencies between town government and the school district. Town Manager Michael P. Walsh outlined the IBAC's purpose and noted that appointments will serve coterminous with members' terms of office. The board approved the listed IBAC appointments by unanimous vote.
