The wraps would be mock‑ups using historic photographs where available and Sanborn‑map imagery where necessary; Main Street proposed QR codes linking each wrap to context and museum resources. Main Street emphasized it will fund installation and ongoing maintenance, including graffiti cleanup, through private fundraising.
Board members welcomed the idea as a streetscape improvement but raised operational questions. Members asked what agreements with FDOT and the municipal utility (FPU) will require, how long the adhesives and inks will last in the sun, who will be responsible for replacement costs, and whether the imagery might visually clutter historic downtown blocks if over‑deployed. A council member cautioned against overuse: “I don’t want downtown to be so full of history and stuff that it gets…tacky.” The Main Street representative said the group plans small, selective deployments and will return with mock‑ups and evidence from other jurisdictions.
